At Wings 4 Words your communication journey takes flight.

What does Wings 4 Words value? This comes down to… 4 words of course!

Values

Collaboration - A fruitful conversation involves more than one person - why wouldn’t speech therapy be the same? I believe that the best results occur when both the client (that’s you!) and therapist (that’s me!) work together to develop goals based on your individual priorities, problem solve through communication barriers, and reflect on the highs and lows along the way.

Individualization - There is no one-size-fits-all therapy model. Within these sessions, therapy will use strategies and activities tailored to your goals. Communication is enhanced through therapy that is an expression of fun, creativity, and self. Additionally, based on our collaborative reflection and problem solving, therapy may shift over time. Goals, strategies, or even where therapy is done (at the park? in a store? somewhere else you go regularly?) may evolve, all based on what is most effective for you.

Connection - Sometimes words are just what you need to order a sandwich*. But I believe the true magic of words comes from their ability to build bonds. I strive to establish rapport and form relationships with my clients, since without that any strategies won’t stick. More importantly, my focus is on helping my clients be not only heard, but understood, and teaching them how they can effectively connect with others through communication, in all the wonderful shapes it comes (words, tone, expression, body language, etc.).

*Don’t worry, I will help you order a sandwich if that’s what your goal is!

Empowerment - All communication is self-expression. No wonder it can elicit so many feelings! There are few things as personal or vulnerable as opening your mouth and breathing life to your thoughts for others to hear. But there are few things as powerful either. No one else can tell your story. At Wings 4 Words, I hope to give you the confidence and strategies to let your words soar.
